Gary L. Moss, OD, MBA is a principal in, and Director of Appraisals for Practice Appraisal & Mediation, a national ophthalmic consulting collaborative endorsed by the American Optometric Association Board of Trustees. In addition, he maintains an office for the practice of optometry in Boston and has completed MBA studies concentrating in healthcare management and finance from the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. Moss has been actively engaged in the appraisal and negotiation of ophthalmic practices since 1985 having completed over 275 in 22 states and Canada. His appraisals are used for purposes of purchase & sale price determination and allocation, mergers, estate settlement, partnership and divorce dissolution. He is an Associate Professor at the New England College of Optometry, where he teaches the business (finance, marketing and management) courses, and adjunct faculty at Emmanuel College teaching Strategic Management and Organizational Behavior. Dr. Moss has lectured on several occasions to optometrists and ophthalmologists on practice valuation, sales & purchase for continuing education certification in Massachusetts., New Jersey, New Hampshire, Florida, Illionis, Minnesota and Missouri. In addition, he is a licensed real estate broker in Massachusetts, a former consultant for HPSC(a healthcare financing resource in Boston) and a former Regional Quality Assurance Representative for Davis Managed Vision Care.
